Sony Android 8 and 10 Audio to AVR Settings

Android 8:

  • HDMI ARC (Dolby Atmos through Dolby Digital Plus)
  • Optical Toslink (Dolby Digital 5.1)

Android 10 (Google TV):

  • HDMI eARC (Dolby Atmos through Dolby Digital Plus)
  • Optical Toslink (Dolby Digital 5.1)

Android 8

  1. On the supplied remote, press the HOME button.
  2. Open the Settings screen
    • Using the Quick Settings button (For models released in 2019 or later)
      • Press the  (Quick Settings) button on the remote control.
      • Select the  Settings icon.
    • Using the HOME button
      • Press the HOME button.
      • Select the  Settings icon.
    • This step will depend on your TV menu options:
      • Select Display & Sound → Sound
        1. Sound Adjustment → (N/A)
        2. Speakers → Audio System
        3. Audio System Prioritization → Off
        4. Headphone/Audio Out → (Audio Out Fixed)
        5. Audio to Both TV Speakers & Other Devices → Off
        6. Home Theater Control → (N/A)
        7. Sound Mode Sync → Off
        8. A/V Sync → Auto
        9. System Sounds → On
        10. Digital Audio Out → Auto 1

 

 

Android 10

  1. On the supplied remote, press the HOME button.
  2. Open the Settings screen

      • Select the  Settings icon.

      • Press the HOME button.

        1. Speakers → Audio System
        2. TV Center Speaker Mode (Only OLED) → Off
        3. Audio System Prioritization → Off
        4. Home Theater Control → (N/A)
        5. Sound Mode Sync → Off
        6. A/V Sync → Auto
        7. eARC Mode → Auto
        8. Digital Audio Out → Auto 1
        9. Digital Audio Out Volume → Max
        10. Dolby Digital Plus Output → Dolby Digital Plus
        11. Pass Through Mode → Auto
