Building the Infrastructure: (Multiple Configurations)
This is assuming understanding of network configurations.
Android/Google TV and Sonos are Used as Examples
“Better”: (Unmanaged Switch)
- Layer 3 Router – Behind Configured ISP Router or ISP/Consumer Purchased Modem
- Non-Blocking and Full-Duplex Layer 2 Unmanaged Switch(s) “No More than (3) Switches” – Daisy Chaining from Layer 3 Router
- Multiple APs or Single AP – Behind Same Layer 2 Unmanaged Switch
- Option 1: All “Like” Protocols or Devices Must be on Same Switch. (See Below)
- All Google TVs Wired to One Switch
- All Sonos Devices Wired to One Switch
- Option 2: Multi “Like” Protocols or Devices Share and Must be on Same Switch. (See Below)
- All Google TVs Wired to Same Switch and Sonos Devices
- Option 3: In these Configurations, the APs don’t have to be on the Same Switch. (See Below)
- Because None of these Devices are Wireless
- Option 4: If you are to have Some or All Devices on Wi-Fi, the APs need to be on the Same Switch as the Wired Devices with the (See Below)
